Some time ago I posted my rolling tool caddy on Wood Magazine’s shop projects gallery. Months went by without me giving it another thought, until I was contacted the other day by the editor of the upcoming 3rd edition of “America’s Best Home Workshops”. It seems he wants to include my humble project in the gallery section of best shop projects.

I’m told the publication will not be out until this coming spring, so I have to wait patiently for fame and fortune to arrive. <g> Regardless, I felt honored to be asked, and I just wanted to share that with my fellow Lumberjocks who provide me with so much inspiration. Thanks!

Pretty spiffy caddy. It’s about time they got around to recognizing your genius. Congratulations.

It looks like something I could use in my shop if I only had floor space to roll it around in …

Thanks, everyone!

MrWoody, my understanding is that this is not a regular magazine issue, but a special edition from the publishers of Wood Magazine that comes out periodically. I was told that the 2nd edition is on newsstands currently, and that my project will appear in the 3rd edition, due out in the early spring.

CharlieM1958,
Congratulations on the recognition by the magazine. Please let us know when the magazine comes out so we can all get one. Just curious as to whether I’ll be able to afford the autographed copy or not? Tell me did they explain in detail why, they felt the tool caddy warranted such additional exposure? My guess is that they were mesmerized with the completely square corners on the tower and case! You aint gonna tell ‘em how you do it are you?
Again congratulations my friend.
Sincerley,
Ken McGinnis

Don’t worry, I’ll let everyone know when it comes out. I may demand commission from the publisher. If all you jocks buy a copy, it might double the number of copies that would have been sold otherwise!

Terry, I guess there is nothing too important in the drawers, because I can’t remember what all is in there off the top of my head. :-) I kmow there are some hex keys in there, and some leatherworking punches my aunt gave me…. and a set od cheapie carving knives….
