My 82 year old father-in-law is refurbishing a Corely 395 saw mill. He’s done a pretty good job of turning a field full of rusted parts into something workable. Right now he’s trying to find the 1 1/2” mandrel nut for the blade. Corely Mfg Co wants approx $32.00 for that nut (part# 71019). Any chance someone here would know where he could find one at a lower price? We’d be grateful for any help/advice on this subject. Roger |

could try a Fastenal but you need to know size and thread ct -- In the end, when your life flashes before your eyes, will you like what you see? |

The nut is an 1 1/2” rhthread, 6 tpi, but it’s not exactly a standard thread. I’m looking for a replacement to keep from spending too much money on a single nut. |

Take a look at Mcmaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com). They have a variety of nuts that have a 1 1/2”-6 thread, in materials from steel to silicon-bronze, and cost anywhere from $7 to $113. Maybe one might work for you? Good luck! *After typing that I realized that you’re looking for a mandrel nut, and the parts i was looking at on Mcmaster are hex nuts. Maybe those will still work for you? They don’t seem to have mandrel nuts with anything larger than 1/2” thread. |

Thanks for the reply, but yeah, the thread is one of those with flat valleys. Can’t remember what they call those. |

Acme. Yes, that’s it. Somewhere on this forum are folks who have 395 Corley Mills. I hoped they could lead me to someone with a spare mandrel nut. If not, we can bite the bullet and buy one from Corley Mfg Co. |
