I am wondering how you make lazy Susan’s. Any answers would help.

I just did my first “no hardware” lazy susan today. It looks like it is going to work. The top is a 15” circle, bottom is a 12” circlewith a 1” hole through the center, I then glued a 9” circle (1/4” ply) with a hole in the center to the bottom as a spacer between the top and bottom. The pivot is a 1” dowel glued in the bottom. The top has a 1” hole 3/4 of its thickness and just sits on top of the base. A little wax and it spins freely with no appreciable wobble. It would be easier to buy the hardware from Rockler and just put it together. But where is the fun in that?

I buy a ring of ball bearings and screw them under the top plate. They are pretty cheap now- only a few bucks.
If you made one without it, it seems it will have to be some real slippery material in between with a pivot post in the center with a screw and washer on the bottom so the two plates can’t separate…............Jim

Thanks Scott. I don’t know why I can’t master that simple skill. Don’t bother trying to teach me. I have been detailed on every technique for posting links imaginable but I’m too stupid to get it.
