Topic tags/keywords: planer chicago tools 95838 bosch 1594k

Hi boys and girls… I looked but see no reviews on this products offered at Harbor Freight and wonder if anyone has any thoughts.

I normally buy good quality tools but have been told by a few folks that a hand hald electric planer is one of this tools that stays in their case most of the time. With that I am wondering if I should save my money and buy this product at HF rather than the Bosch 1594K – there’s about $100.00 difference (66%).

The reviews at Harbor Freight are quite impressive as are those at the Bosch site. Interestingly, many reviews suggest the opposite of what I’ve been told regarding the usefullness of this type tool. Guess it’s all in what type of work one does.

Your thoughts!!

I guess it would mostly depend on how much you’d use it.
Do you have any projects planned?
It’s been over a year. Get your butt out in that nice shop brother! lol

It is possible that they are made in the same factory.

Many years ago a lot of power tools were built by one company in Chicago and I thought they had gone out of business with all of the offshoring. I used to go to the tool store in Illinois and look at where they were assembled and it included Skill and a number of other brands.

If possible, check to see where each is assembled and perhaps it is now a common in China?

Just a guess!

Woodwrecker – I read your comment twice and then thought… let me check my projects. Yep – you’re right I’ve not posted a project in a long time. I’ve been busy doing stuff. Guess I best get busy and start posting. Perhaps a few new tools will help geet me motivated.
