I hope you can help me with a problem I’m having finding a part for a DW788 type 1 scrollsaw.

I need the Fuse Cap. The schematics say it’s Part # 286345-00. When I go to look for it all the part places on the Internet they say it’s been replaced with Part # 286324-00. They said it’s compatible. So I ordered it. It came in and guess what? It isn’t compatible . The metal blades on the new fuse holder are smaller so the original clips on the ends of the (2) wires won’t fit. They just slide off. I thought, well maybe I just need to install the new fuse cap into the old fuse holder. It didn’t fit as it’s a different design then the original one.

I’m hoping that you can suggest a vendor that deals in “older parts” where I can buy the right one or maybe if someone has an extra one. I’d be willing to buy it from you.

Thanks for your time.

Take care.

Unfortunately, that’s where I bought the “compatible” part which doesn’t work.
Thanks for your suggestion though.

Take care.

Have you tried going into Radio Shack and looking through the bins of components for a match to yours. I have had luck doing that with other electronic parts.
