new band saw

I have a 14” Rikon, the same one that Dick Cain reviewed in the review section of LJ’s… I absolutely LOVE IT… I can’t describe how well put together a saw it is…. if the 18” is anything like it, you can’t go wrong.

I have a 14” Rikon Deluxe, and

a) its not bad, at all, does some things very well, many features

b) not compatible with many of the standard band saw accessories because of the OEM roller bearings

c) main welds are crooked, it has a noticeable tilt, yup when you look at it the rear “spine” is not perpendicular to the ground, about 4 degrees off.

d) Rikon customer service SUCKS, the induhvidual got pissed at me on the phone because I took 2 months to call them about the problem. Did not seem to have any sympathy about pregnant wife, 2 Y.O. daughter and 45-50 hour week real job to pay for his products.

e) I will never buy another Rikon product because of their customer service.

I don’t know about their bandsaws , but I did buy one of their belt / disc sanders that I sometimes wish I never had : (
