If you’re needing a source for lumber check out this company – http://deanohardwoods.com/lumber/
I came across them in an unrelated search, sent an email to the home office in Lafayette, LA to confirm the Shreveport location and we made the drive up the next day. They’re sorta off the beaten path, do Google their address before you try to find them and don’t be put off by the warehouse district.

Couple of great guys run the warehouse, very friendly, willing to break a stack if you’re needing something in particular and the selection is really good. Prices are current market so do a little research before going. This place has become my most favorite shopping stop while in Shreveport! We haven’t been to the location in Lafayette yet as Shreveport is closer for us.

Just wanted to pass this along to anyone wanting something other than oak, pine or cypress in this area.

Karen—I actually live just outside Lafayette, and I had not heard of Deano’s. I’ll definitely check them out. Thanks for the tip!

Hey Don – check back here after you visit them, wouldja? We occasionally get down that way so if they’re worth the trip, I wanna know!
