Hi,
I get bombarded by Mag subscripts offers…what mags do you getand why?
what mags are NOT worth it?
etc, etc.

I keep getting haunted by Woodsmith, they sent me 1 issue and a Router issue, now they are making me feel like I owe them something…

I DID subscribe to WOODWORKERS JOURNAL, it was $10, so..Haven’t gotten an issue yet though

Got “WOOD”. They had a 2 (year) for 1 deal.

I get Woodsmith, Shopnotes, and Wood. I’m thinking of getting Fine Woodworking too-I like that it has a lot of great tips, but the projects they highlight tend to be over my woodworking head, so I’m not sure.

I get Popular Woodworking and Fine Woodworking. Pww fits my style and gives out a lot of content online. Fww has pretty pictures and most of their content is interesting to me. They do cover some difficult techniques, but I usually find that inspiring.

Most of the other magazines I’ve looked at are too much jig-based power tool techniques for me, to generalize greatly.

I subscribe to Fine Woodworking online and Shop Notes in print format. I’ll likely drop the FWW in the near future. I’ve read about all their old content I’m interested in and the new stuff comes out too infrequently. Shop Notes can’t be beat for signal to noise ratio. No ads and only the occasional product push/review.

I gave up all my mag subscriptions….why, because I got tired of every month getting ” second notice” third notice” etc when the D$%# subs were paid up for over a year. Now I pick them up on the newsstand and if there is something of interest I buy, if not I put it back.
Search this topic on here, there has been a lot of comments about it.
