I took my nieces and nephews (and dog) out on some trails today. We hiked for about 2 hours. It was a great time, took some nice pictures, and spent some quality time with each other! The weather was perfect for Iowa—72 degrees! I should have taken more photos of this at different angles…but thought I’d share anyways. This was an old tree that was laying on the ground with roots still intact. It was really cool! I immediately thought of Jeffro's work. It would be an awesome coffee table or some sort of chair, or something I can’t even imagine!

Base looks like some kind of octopus or something! One of those that you would have to stare at for a while to decide what to do with it.

-- Mother Nature created it, I just assemble it.

I can see that sand blasted and put under a slab of some 2” thick table surface.

Very cool. I’m thinking a light fixture. Sort of like those rustic deer antler lights. Add some halogen or led lamps and it would look great hanging from the ceiling of a log cabin.

Sometimes you just can’t seem to get permission to cut them up.
Too bad.
Here are a couple of root pics I took in France and Italy last year.
Couldn’t cut them up either.

This one is a 1000 year old olive tree (France)

These ones are from Regio de Calabria in Italy

That is just stunning and strikingly beautiful! Nature does gives us a lot of amazing things to ponder on.

Wow! I can see why you thought of Jeffro. That’s right up his alley.
