Hello Everyone, Long time no post. I’ve lurked a lot though….wow have things changed from the early days. Anyway, keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow. It’s the big day, 24 miles across Cape Cod Bay. http://www.capecodbaychallenge.org/ Now that all the planning and training for this is over I’ll start spending some more time in the shop and you’ll see my smiling face here again more often. I have some paddles waiting in the wings and a few other fun projects to blog once I get them going. I’ll get the Sketchup stuff rolling again too. Best of luck. Just be sure to hit the Cape… be a real bummer to go right past it and then have to go all the way to Britain. ha -- Rob (A) Waxahachie,TX |

Thanks for all the well wishes. We made it! 7.5 hours, 27.5 miles according to the boat GPS (I didn’t account for the long curve the incoming tide would force upon us) . Conditions weren’t quite as good as forecast but not bad. We had a great time. Lots of laughs. Already looking forward to next year. The final total isn’t in yet but we will raise somewhere in the neighborhood of $11,000 Here are some pics. Time to start building some paddles…:) -- Bob, Carver Massachusetts, Sawdust Maker http://www.capecodbaychallenge.org |
