It would have to be horse chestnut here in the states, and that might have a problem with the FDA as it has been known to be used as poison. -- Failure does not stop me, it makes me try harder..... because I'm crazy. |

Are you looking at an English woodworking or turning reference? If so, that is probably Chestnut Finishing Oil, not a finishing oil made from chestnut. Chestnut does not have any North American distribution, but I think you will find you get very similar results with a tung oil or tung oil blend finish – just make sure it has a high percentage content of real tung oil. Lots of ‘tung oil finishes’ do not. |
