the 11/2012 issue of the family handyman has an ad on page 107 that has the 11/1 through 1/31 prices for a few of the items that will be on sale. for anyone looking for an entry level TS, the 0732 will be reduced $145 to $650. the design is of a contractor saw (open stand) but the motor is within the cabinet. apparently it’s $750 shipped. just passing along info. with 3 10” TSs currently, i’m not in the market for any more.

pendledad ..... yes. if you are interested, i’d get a copy of it. i think the only cabinet saw in the class you’re investigatig was reduced by ~ $30 (?), but i don’t have access to it now.

They just posted the 1023S (non riving knife model?) to their outlet section of the website.

I emailed customer service to see if I could get a sneak peak …

ME
I am looking at a table saw, band saw, dust collector, and jointer. Any new information on upcoming sales I can take advantage of?

Grizzly Response
Thank you for your email dated October 26, 2012.

We appreciate your interest in our products. I can tell you that the items requested will likely be on sale. The reason I cannot provide item numbers is because I am unsure what models will be going on sale.

I guess I’ll have to be patient and see what the full sale will be. I heard they sometimes put out a x-mas catalog. I ordered a catalog 2 weeks ago, so I wonder if they’re delaying it so I get the x-mas sale version.

For anyone considering a G0732….take a good look to be sure it’s what you want. It sports a slightly undersized table (25” deep vs 27” deep), steel wings, and a pretty modest fence. At regular price of $894 shipped, it seemed severely overpriced relative to Grizzly’s own G0715P, G0713, and G0661 alternatives….all offering solid cast wings, bigger tables, and better fences. For $150 less on sale, the G0732 still seems overpriced IMO relative to a Cman 21833, Ridgid R4512, or PCB270TS….all < $600. It might be a wonderful saw, but from a features standpoint, I haven’t found many advantages over the competition, unless that 2” smaller table and lighter weight is of interest.

Yikes, no thanks. I don’t see a benefit to the R4512/craftsman clone. Same steel extensions, but smaller where you really need the room (in front of the blade).

Edit – in addition, I have been noticing a lot of Grizzly/harbor Freight cross over lately. First the 10×18 lathe, my local HF has a new 14” bandsaw that looks exactly like the one Grizzly no longer offers (not sure of the model, but it was about $425). I’m willing to bet you’ll see something extremely similar to this with a yellow “Central Machinery” sticker on it soon.

I was in the Grizz Springfield, MO store earlier this year. Of all the tools I saw the one that looked the cheapest to me was the G0732. The wings were REALLY thin. It is also undersized and seemed toy-like to me. Now for a hobbiest like me, I’m sure it would be fine, but I think the Ridgid hybrid saw is probably a better saw at a lower price.

Just my 2 cents since we have to mostly buy Grizz tools sight unseen.

I will say I was REALLY impressed with all the other Grizz table saws that were on the floor. The 715 was not there though. I was also impressed with their bandsaws and jointers.

People on other forums have already received their Christmas catalog. I’ve been waiting for mine since 10/10.

I’m hoping they delayed it because they were sending me the Christmas catalog instead of the 2012 general one.

I got my catalog yesterday (Monday 10-29). I have not had a chance / time to look at it yet.

On the website the G0690 has a “CHRISTMAS SALE” tag on the specs page. I’m guessing they’ll show the sale price starting Thursday.
