Topic tags/keywords: question

Since it is almost Halloween, I thought I would poll the electorate and see what the stores want to know.
What tool do you want for Christmas?
( If you don’t celebrate it or call it that, please resist the urge to tell me such)

I know we could all dream big, but what is realistic to see that morning?

so lets keep it under 250 dollars, and be able to be carried by a lone spouse.

I am really curious to see what tools us crafty folk are hoping for but won’t buy on our own.

here is mine
http://thebestthings.com/newtools/clifton_spokeshaves.htm
the clifton convex spokeshave.
something that would be nice to have , but has never been important enough to go get because i need it.

maybe my spouse will see this and get me something this year, because I like material, but coal doesn’t carve that great.

best regards

I’m asking santa for a new air compressor. Probably a Senco or Emglo 4 gal.

Tedstor, I recently bought a Makita MAC2400 compressor, 4.2 gallon and 4.2 SCFM @ 90 PSI. Not sure if that’s in the neighborhood as the ones you mention, but I’m very happy with my Makita. It’s oiled and quiet, as it runs at a fairly low RPM. Anyway, for what it’s worth to ya…

Back on topic… I’d love some of the new Veritas PM-V11 chisels. And maybe a Blue Spruce mallet to go with them. Ho ho ho!

Hmmmm

Some very nice chisels from Lee Valley. I could circle them in the catalogue and leave it lying around…..

This is a tough one, but something that deserves some deep consideration. A new LV rabbet plane? A set of skew or fishtail chisels? A router plane? Going to have to narrow it down, but good to daydream about.

A new Shop. I’m now working out of 1/2 of a two car garage and part of a one car garage. But hoping to buy a new place in the mountains North of Phoenix with 1/2 acre lot. So I’ll have room for a nice shop. Come On Santa.

I don’t really have an xmas list per se… but I do know that every time that UPS man shows up with another tool that I ordered I get that same feeling. Best part is it happens 12 months out of the year instead of 1!

My next two tools that I am getting don’t meet the posting criteria at all, lol.

Bosch 12” SCMS (seriously considering axial glide though…)

and

Rol Air VT20TB

A chisel set. Gotta figure out which ones, but I want a good set of 4-6 in the $100 range…probably a few books and a FWW subscription

I’ll take those Veritas chisels as well! And the Wynn filter! And I’d certainly love a new compressor.

I think, however, since I wont be getting that Laguna 14 SUV anytime soon, I too would probably choose some spokeshaves!

I’d like a Veritas router plane (http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=52609&cat=1,41182,48945) and a Veritas spokeshave set (http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=49142&cat=1,50230&ap=1). I’m sure I’ll buy myself both at some point.

Rich;)
