Just thought that I’d let everyone know why I haven’t been on LJ much lately. For the past several months, I have constantly felt tired, run down & weak. A couple of months ago, I started to experience nausea and found it difficult to eat anything; I’ve no lost nearly 70 pounds in the past six months! Good thing that I was a rather large man to begin with.
So, after a lot of tests, I found out that I have cancer of my left kidney and the surrounding lymph nodes. Thankfully, my right kidney appears to be ok. I saw the surgeon/kidney specialist this past Friday and I am scheduled for surgery on 10-22. I’m certainly not looking forward to the surgery but if it can help get me back to where I can lead a relatively normal life and do some woodworking again, I’ll be very thankful. I miss a lot of things that I can no longer do, but especially my woodworking. Hopefully I’ll be back making sawdust in a couple/three months.

“getting old ain’t for sissy’s” ....so true , David ! Jim , Best wishes on a speedy and full recovery !! Looking forward to your first project after you get some rest : )

Best wishes to you and your family. I had open heart surgery last December, it was scary stuff going in, but I learned that modern medicine is pretty miraculous. Go into it with a positive attitude, understand that the doctors and nurses are looking out for your best interest and let them do their thing. I wish you the best and hope you are making saw dust soon.
sorry to hear of your cancer jim, my mom just found out she has it also, its a hard thing to deal with, i hope your surgery goes well and that you heal quickly, take care and we all hope to see you making saw dust as soon as possible…prayers are in your behalf…grizz
Keep the faith. Positive out look is 3/4 the battle.
