I saw in a local newspaper of a Woodworkers shop sale that was just around the corner from me. Checked it out today and at first was not impressed as I walked up to a barn that had seen better days and that has a dirt floor. There was table after table of some misc. rotor bits and some hand tools, all what I thought was over priced junk. I found a couple of bits that I could use and turned to leave as I turned around there sat an almost brand new Rikon 18" band saw plus some new blades. Short story I offered her $500.00 and she looked at her brother for guidance. I pick it up Monday, now where to put it. Can't wait to fire that baby up.

Well here's those pics I promised. Had one snag, previous owner must have over tightened the lock for adjusting the blade guard up and down. It would bind up at most of the up and down travel. Called Rikon (Very nice people) and for $20.00 they sent me a new one. The last two pics are of some scrap red oak 3/4" x 7 1/2" I had, cut like butter exactly in half. Gotta love it!!!

Update: I installed the blade guard Rikon sent me, she cuts like butter. But to my surprise, no bill from Rikon. Talk about going the distance with customer service. They didn't have to do that seeing as it was not their fault. Great people to deal with

and that's the reason i jumped at the opportunity to unload a well functioning 18" jet BS and replace it with a rikon 10-345 for $50 less that i sold the jet for. better tools and a better company to deal with. wmh tool group (parent of jet) would never do that for an out of warranty customer.
