Topic tags/keywords: question bandsaw I have this BS on order, should be receiving it soon. Specs state blade length at 156 and 3/4 inches—how critical is that length? My previous bandsaws did not require fractional size blades so this is uncharted territory for me. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! Karl -- Sow justice, reap peace |

My Grizz uses a fractional size (93 1/2”). No probs finding incremental sizes here. -- bill@magraphics.us |

Concurring with Bill’s comment – virtually all 14” BS have the 93.5” blades; the Hammer will use industrial-size blades, just because it’s in the next (several) steps up from the high-end pro-consumer tools like the Grizzly & Delta (mine). Having said this, you will not find these at Home Depot …; my guess is you’ll have to order these from a manufacturer – which is usual and customary for them – no bid deal – think Lenox, Timberwolf, ... Order a Starrett blade. You won’t regret it. You will have to order it through an industrial supplier; most WW’er stores don’t carry Starrett blades; tools, yes. |

Regarding ‘criticality’, you must use the exact size recommended by the manufacturer – other Forum Members please correct me if I wrong on this. Otherwise, the blade tensioning system won’t work properly. -- Lead By Example; Make a Difference |

You can custom order blades from several vendors, think you order by feet, inches, fraction or 13’, 0”, ¾”. Just tell folks what band saw ordering for and mush have 156 ¾” blades. There are more places but here is just a few. http://www.bandsawbladesdirect.com/ -- Bill |

When you get the chance, please post a review of the 4400. I wish my wife could afford the Felder line-up – I know that I can rationalize the expense; but then, I’m not the BOSS. MJCD -- Lead By Example; Make a Difference |
