All,

I am headed to Simi Valley CA next week for work and would like to stop by some wood stores. I am interested in some good turning blanks, so if anyone has any suggestions for good wood stores, it will be greatly appreciated. Have a good day.

Thanks
Trey

Hey Trey,
Good luck; the best place I’ve found is Lane Stanton Vance in Oxnard (details on the web). Depending on who waits on you, you’ll either get 10% of your wood free, or pay 15% more than you should. But they’re just about the only game in Ventura county. I don’t recall seeing any small quantities of wood (blanks) but give them a call.

Lane Stanton Vance has good prices but they rip you, watch their BF calculations, usually add 20%.
By Costco in Oxnard there is Myan Hardwood, fair prices and they calculate BF properly
I don’t think either of these places would have much if any turning stock.
In October we are getting a Woodcraft in Ventura.
