You have to check out this video of a Moroccan man turning chess pieces by hand, and foot…with one chisel.
Next time that I think I need better tools for a project, I’ll think of him.

He did in less than 15 minutes with a bow-drill lathe, his feet, his left hand, and a skew chisel what would have taken me about an hour with a powered lathe and maybe 4-5 lathe tools.

Time to practice.
