I took my daughter on a bicycle ride last week. Something broke which sent me flying through the air and onto the pavement. I got road rash and gashes on my left side and a nice broken wrist on my right. Got out of surgery 2 days ago from having pins and screws put in and now I am on the road to recovery.

I was in the middle of starting a thickness planer project and I cant get that out of my head. Plus my other hobby of weight lifting is going to be set back by several months. This really sucks! I got so much to do but cant until I am healed up.

Am I missing something here? And how was/is your daughter? Was she on this same bike with you (very young) or riding her own bike and not involved in the accident?

Of course she was not on the bike with me. She saw it happen and was blaming herself for asking me to go. Sorry I am on pain meds. and I know what I am saying but others don’t.

That would make me a pretty s* daddy if she was hurt and I was only concerned bout myself.

Thanks for clearing that up… the pain meds can explain that as well. Sorry about your wrist, but at least you are still mobile and can be thankful for that much. Falling off a bike hurts and can even be deadly if/when you land on your head. Not trying to compare aches and pains, but I can sure empathize with your accident as I have been there way too often. Heal soon…

Ouch! I hurt just reading your post.
You have my sympathies.
Take it easy and heal fast.

Oh man. Made me think back to a similar accident. I’m hurting for you! Speedy recovery to you. In the meantime – I hope your mind conceives a masterpiece that you unleash after you are healed up a bit.

Hope this doesn’t keep either of you from getting back on the bike; heal soon and always keep the rubber side down.
