Topic tags/keywords: stanley plane jointer plane 8

Type 9 based on the frog, though the lateral adjust lever has a patent date on it.

I repainted the body, sanded and refinished the tote and knob with Danish oil, and polished up the other parts.

These go on eBay somewhere between $70 (hanging-holed, rusty, and/or pre-lateral adjuster) and $150 (pristine type 11 restorations). Let’s call it $110 plus shipping. Feel free to ask any questions, or if you want more pictures.

She’s a beaut. Wanna trade for a union #8 to restore? I know how much you enjoy restoring planes. lol

OnlyJustME: I recently picked up a Millers Falls 24 to pretty much complete my full MF bench plane set, so I’ve got one too many #8-size planes right now. Thanks for the offer, though.

I should say, I’d be willing to trade for a running Walker-Turner 1/2 or 3/4 HP motor, Walker-Turner 900 series drill press depth stop, or a ‘40s or ‘50s Craftsman machinist tool chest.

Don: thanks. That means a lot, coming from you.

Last chance for this before I put it up on eBay.
