I am looking for a few people that are seriously considering an Overhead Guard for a tablesaw, and are willing and able to build part or all of it themselves. I have an offer.

To see the design, check out: http://lumberjocks.com/topics/3852 where I’ve posted some shots of 2 of the prototypes I’ve built. One I built most of while the other I built all of. Note that my plans do not include the basket or splitter but I do list sources where you can find them.

Here’s the offer and conditions: I have hand drawings at this time, an extensive set of photos and text that explains how I built the various pieces along with things that worked and those that didn’t. In some cases, I list alternate methods of making the parts. If you can and would make a guard, send me an email or pm with your email address and reference this site for the discount. I have a 6 mb pdf I’ll email to you. Review the pdf and insure it’s something you can and will do. If it isn’t, delete the file, let me know and that’s it. If it is, make a system for yourself and when done post a picture here along with a desciption of how it works for you.

What I expect in return: 1) Feedback on the plans. If there are areas, etc that can be improved, let me know. 2) Give me a chance to fix any typo’s etc that might exist in the plans 3) If you build something for yourself, send me $20 when you’re done to help cover costs.

Materials are pipe, flat metal, bolts, nuts, paint, other misc parts, you’ll need to have/get a basket and a splitter. There’s a couple of parts that can either be made or purchased. To make the various pieces you’ll need to have the following done: welding, cutting metal, couple of hole saws, drillpress, drilling tapping, depending: some metal lathe work or alternates.

If this is something that interests you, let me know.

Paul
