Topic tags/keywords: router bit cabinet router bits dark cabinet stain router

Hello Everyone,

I am going to attempt making my own cabinets and doors in the near future and am trying to obtain the gear I will need. I am pretty new to wood working but am almost finished with my workbench and ready to start some new projects. I obtained some sample cabinet doors and am interested in replicating these designs and am wondering what router bits I will need for these. Also, I want a color similar to the darker wood (I believe the wood is cherry). Does anyone have any suggestion for stains or dyes that would help me achieve this color? Thanks!

You can get matched bit sets to cut the rails and stiles. Your second design is a shaker profile—MLCS sells a bit set here http://www.mlcswoodworking.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/smarthtml/pages/set_shaker.htm
