I have a Grizzly G0490 and am wanting to buy a second set of knives for it so that I can have a sharp set on hand at any given time ready to go. Does anybody have any good advice on places to buy replacements for it? I could buy from Grizzly but just wondered if anybody had opinions(haha none of use have opinions right?) on quality and price out there in the market. The Grizzlies would be in the 60 dollars shipped range.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Save your money and sharpen them yourself. It takes 10-15 minutes to sharpen a set of jointer knives.

Plus, YOU will do a better job. I use to send mine out and they would come back looking like they were sharpened on the asphalt.

So last night i grabbed a beer and some cashews and spent some quality time with the jointer blades, some good classic rock and my scary sharp system. It worked well. The hone on the blades were sharp enough to cut my hands without even knowing untill about an hour later when i noticed a bunch of shallow cuts running across my thumbs.

I also pulled all the guts out of the motor and replaced the old cloth electrical lines with brand new wires. The motor runs strong even after probably 50 years!

Tomorrow after i pick up a new V-link belt and dial it all in we’ll see how it runs. When I’m done I’ll toss up some pictures.
