Just to let you know, LV has a free shipping event, So I’m planning to get a few hand tools… and maybe a grinding wheel..

I have the Bahco scraper in my LV cart, but haven’t used one before, so I’ll be interested to see if others can comment. I’ll probably get this to go with it: http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?cat=1,310&p=32669

For spokeshaves, this is a nice set: http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=49142&cat=1,50230&ap=1

Bahco Scrapers are great, have several with the nice fancy leather case I use, I buy the cheap ones at WC for scraping glue and such which are handy…..Spokeshaves have a few but sadly never used them. Consider it is LV my experience has always been positive.

I’m not planning to get a whole set of spokeshaves… Which is better, Flat or curved? What advantages or disadvantages does each one have?

Well, I guess it depends on what type of cuts you want to make with them. Here’s a video from LV that explains the usage and key differences between the flat, curved, and concave spokeshaves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz9OhJDB_sI
