If you enjoy making your own jigs check out this video that Charles Neil just put up on his web site at: http://www.antiquesbuiltdaily.com/tips.htm. The video is called: Taper Safely. In the video Charles shows you how to make and use the taper jig that he has designed. The jig consists of hold downs and cams that make tapering safe and repeatable. He also has a PDF file of the patterns you need to make the jig on his web site that you can download.

Very nice. I saw that a while back and got to thinking about making one for cutting tapers on long 1x stock for custom-made window extension jambs.
