Have had this unit for many years and have planed a lot of rough Canadian pine, birch, and recycled a lot of wooden packing crates. Rollers have been bad for quite a while so have been fighting to keep it feeding smoothly. When I priced out new ones or rebuilding I looked at new planers and discovered that General uses steel rollers instead of the composite type used in Makita. My son does metal lathe work so talked to him about building a steel in feed roller that is knurled on the total circumference of the roller. My 2030N has NEVER done such a beautiful planing job ever. It was also much more cost efficeint than purchasing new one from Makita.
