Just the one line – This Topic Is Closed. Looking back through all the posts, I can’t figure how, or who, was offended. It was all just a bunch of kibbitz. Oh well . . . . .

Talk about a ‘Nanny State’.

Let me get this right, first of all, because a couple of jocks, acting like children, start slagging each other off and shouting and bawling at each other over P&R, then a bunch of other jocks, whose enjoyment of Lumberjocks is diminished because they don’t like what they see when they enter a forum which they weren’t forced to do, start complaining about the P&R threads they didn’t have to read, then like SuperNanny, whoever is in charge makes P&R outlawed, then Helluvawreck apologises for inadvertently posting on a thread that has more to do with science than P&R and the same person who outlawed P&R has closed the thread apologising about posting without reading the new rules.

Seems to me like whoever is in charge is grinding this site under their heel. Traffic must be well down after the ban. If it carries on like this, will there be anything left to click on?

Well, once in a while people post some pretty cool woodworking projects.

I agree with you Jonathan, however, I expected that if a post got flagged, then the offending post would be removed, it’s a little Draconian to pull the plug on the whole thing.
I don’t ever recall not being able to post on a topic because it was closed by the administrators. The ‘New Rules’ stated that P&R threads would be closed – I guess this is an example of that ‘closing’, I just didn’t expect to see it on that thread.
I’d say I’m right about the traffic being down though.

I think everybody’s been accounted on that lone post. There are reasons that might have been the cause for the post to get posted. One example is provocation. Someone or everyone might have provoked the poster making him decide to post that kind of disrespectful response. So, everybody gets blamed.
