When I was setting up my shop a few years ago, I decided on purchasing a Jet: 12” Jointer/Planer, 17” Drill Press, 16-32 Drum Sander, 1 1/2HP Shaper, and a 14” Deluxe Pro Band Saw. I have had no problems with any of this equipment and was pleased with my purchase. When resawing some wood the other day, which I have done a lot of in the last two years, I noticed the bolt holding the tension lever had came loose. When I got to looking, I noticed that the hole in the upper arm frame had been drilled too big and only a few threads had been holding the bolt.

I called the Woodworkers Shop of Pekin, Illinois, where I bought the equipment, and he said he would call the Jet representative. In less than an hour the rep called me back. I told him what my problem was and in less than a week I recived a new band saw. The old one is being picked up tomorrow at no cost to me. You cannot go wrong with Jet!

I’ve always heard good things about their tools and now we can add the CORRECT customer service, which is hard to find these days.

Just bought a Jet 1642 lathe because of stories like yours. Nice to know that their are still companies out there that stand behind this product and do right by the customers.

glad to hear that, for your sake. i assume the tool was still under warranty? i, unfortunately, had a very different experience with jet. it surrounded an 18” band saw and i will NEVER again own a wmh tool group product. i find their tools to be long on promise, short on delivery (decidedly average in all regards) and expensive. when i got the BS, i was looking forward to becoming a jet fan. i thought i had finally joined the big leagues of stationary power tools. it’s performance, and their support, which was just so much less than average, soured me to the point where i sold the BS and replaced it with a used rikon 10-340 for less than i got from the jet.

jet and powermatic? never ever again for me.

-- there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.

I have always believed that quality goods and excellent customer service equate to a full consumer satisfaction. It is impressive when businesses handle their consumer’s needs in a manner which deliver an ardent response. Cheers to Jet and other names who do exactly like that!
