Does anyone have a pet that hangs out in your shop? My cat Tigger hangs out with me as long as I’m not making a lot of noise. My shop is my place of solitude in the mornings where I can sip my coffee, smoke my pipe, and spend time with my pal (he uses me as a back scratching machine).

We call this cat “Monster.” He’s always in the shop when I am.

I had a collie named Coco that liked to hang in the shop preferable in the sawdust under the tablesaw, a total nutter.

Our cat “Simba” also likes the sawdust, he motivates me to keep the floor clean lest he use it as an unauthorized litter box. Otherwise he’s always curious what I’m doing as long as it doesn’t involve power tools. He also seems to have a talent for finding finishes that haven’t fully dried yet.

that’s funny that alot of responses are of Cats. I have three myself and they take turns hanging out in the shop. KA my oldest is not interesting in going into the shop any more though, she is getting up in years and just like to sleep on the bed with her head on the Pillow.

Our new cat, Claw-Dee-Puss, is prone to visiting, as long as I’m not using power tools.
But, at the moment, he has a bit of an attitude problem…

Three Labradors & a couple cats. Sawdust is a favorite to sleep in.

Knick Knack, that’s funny. One of our cat’s name is Clawdius Catullus. Catullus was a Latin poet around the time of Julius Caesar.

My best shop buddie, a black lab died about a year ago. I miss her hanging out with me. None of the other animals…3 dogs, one cat, care to be in there. Few chickens every now and then….

I have two cats that love to be in the shop. I sometimes let them in to look around if I’m just assembling something, but they are sent out if I start the saws. Their tails get all full of sawdust and they drag it all over the house.

I don’t let Sarah in often…makes for a very crowded shop and my cat doesn’t like her. The first shot is of her getting ready to go out and the second shot is just her everyday self.

My other shop pet is more dangerous than a tablesaw…

Great topic! My cats like to come into the shop, especially Keystone. He’s a certified vintage handplane inspector…
