I thought this blank was interesting. It is gray throughout as I discovered when drilling it.
It is not stabilized and has no odor. Also, it not exceptionally hard. About as hard as maple.
Anyone know what it is?

After further research, it is apparently buckeye burl. This one it seems has no sapwood.
