Topic tags/keywords: carving tool

I recently aquired a very nice set of vintage Buck Brother Crank Neck Paring Gouges, which includes matching 1/2 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4 inch set. They are in exceptional condition with very little to no pitting, I have been searching the internet and local resources trying to figure out what they re worth, with no sucess. I have seen some of the individual gouges on line but nowhere have I been able to find the set, or information about any such set. I am hoping that some of my fellow carving Jocks, may be able so shed some light or provide a resourse. Thanks to all in advance!

You may be able to get some information at Wood carving Illustrated.

Nice set. I have a few myself

You set is worth maybe $100-$140 if you want to sell
it on ebay as a lot. That’s what the tools are worth in
terms of what you can actually sell them for easily. The
paring gouges are associated with patternmaking, a dying art.

I’ve seen the crank-neck Buck gouges on ebay plenty. I
have a few myself. They aren’t as in demand as the
Buck crank-neck paring chisels.
