I recently almost-finished 4 boxes, 3 fo which are going to have Brusso stop hinges. In order to install them I took two (one larger for the large box, one smaller for the two smaller boxes) tow measure/test/make a fliping story stick to route the mortises on the router table. Router table is in the garage, and it’s the Summer in Austin, TX. Lots of sweating. So, I’ve aged two of these w/o reall wanting to. I know, then sweat all over the other ones to make them acquire the same color, haha. Well, I’d like them to look like new. Anything you can suggest? Products?

I think the Dollar general stores has Brasso. Used to shine up all my army-type brass with it. Gets the brass nice and shiny, with just a soft wash cloth. Then, all you need to do is clear-coat the shiny Brass.

I like Nevrdull brass cleaner to re-polish them. Not quite as easy to do with hinges but normally when I add brass accents to projects, I’ll polish them real good and then spray them with clear lacquer to keep them from tarnishing again.

thanks guys… Had no idea about clear-coating them with lacquer or something else. Can I just put paste wax on them after polishing? Thanks!
