Hand Tool Contest (Roy Underhill Prize)

Want to test out or show-off your hand tool skills? And at the same time make something for a kid? Then this is the contest for you. This would be a great contest for a father-son/daughter team.

Make a child’s toy by using ALL hand tools. It can be anything form a toy top, wooden toy car to a carved toy soldier. The toys will be judged poll style by your woodworking peers.

Contest Rules:

Build a toy using all hand tools. Must submit pictures of the build process and final finished toy. Submit as many pictures as you’d like in order to show the process. Take pictures that capture key build steps. Contest entry deadline is September 14 at 5:00pm EST Voting begins Sept 14 at 7:00pm EST and ends the 21st at 5:00pm EST

(Everyone should be starting from lumber either purchased from a lumber yard or a home center. If you feel the need to start from a log, go for it – Roy would be proud.)
