To make a long story short, we use these in our flooring business and one of them had a broken hose, so I ordered a new hose for it, and then realized how similar in specs this was to some of the expensive dust extraction units. It’s designed to be worn on the shoulders, but it’s essentially a quiet (less than 70db, 120cfm, 2 stage HEPA filtration shop vac essentially. When i get the new hose, I was going to try this as a dust extraction unit for my smaller tools, like my dewalt track saw. This thing works awesome as a regular vacuum and is stronger and quieter than any shop vac I’ve used, so I thought I’d give it a try. Any thoughts? This is the vacuum here:

I have used for years a regular eureka vacuum for instead of the older 16 gallon Craftsman shop vac mainly because it had more suction being 12 amps vs. 9 with the shop vac. Only plus the shop vac had was the 15 gallons. Vacuums allot of times have more suction than a shop vac. I think that’s one reason shop vacs are about $60-160 and vacuums tend to be more expensive unless of course you buy a expensive shop vac which is closer to the price of a vacuum.
