Topic tags/keywords: jet 1236 lathe maintenance

I’ve had a (used) Jet 1236 lathe for about a month. Everything works great – even the reeves drive.

Maybe it’s not done anymore, but I’ve been trying to find some guidance for periodic maintenance. The “Operator Manual” is the assembly instructions and a parts list. There isn’t even any reference to changing or adjusting the belt on the reeves drive.

Has anyone every seen any maintenance info for this machine?

Thanks,
Uncle_Bob

I will try to find it tomorrow and I will Make a PDF for you please send me your Email address on a PM and I will send you all the original documentation I have. I don’t recall there being any routine Maintenance So I should probably re read the book any way so I will do that too. Lance

Keeping reeves drive clean of dust and wood chips/shavings about all can do if have easy access to it. Either vacuuming or blow out dust & wood chips/shavings. May find recommendations to keep it lubricated which makes sense. Have not use these products sure may find others which should work as well.
DuPont™ Teflon™ Multi-Use Lubricant
DuPont™ Teflon™ Non-Stick Dry-Film Lubricant

Hope somebidy will provide better advice on lubrication or not to lubricate
