Hello all I recently aquried a supermax 25×2 and noticed in two post here their are members with the same sander and wanted to ask a question. When I got back home I disected the plug and it was wired 2 hots and a ground so
I changed the plug to match my receptacle and wired the same way. I have noticed the 5 HP lesson motor does get hot after about 30 minutes of continuous use you can lay your hand on it and remove it about 2 secs later with no burns or red marks to my hand. Do the motors typically run this hot? I have been running my machine for an hour at a time then rest it.

I have a 37×2 Supermax and it does not run that hot. 220v 30a single phase. Best get that checked out….. If you run into needing parts I know that they still carry many of them and look into the rubber conveyor belt option.

I’ve talked to lesson and performax and they said don’t worry about it thermal reset switch will trip if it gets too hot.
