In the days before joining LJ i could drive forever passing up yardsales, flemarkets etc. But since becoming a member and seeing all the great tools people find. I can’t pass them up now. Thrill of the hunt ? Why ? Becoming a Toolacholic ? I had one handplane before joining. Now i have 10. Any cure for it? Oh well it Saturday whouldn’t hurt to go fea market this morning.

The first step is admitting you have a problem! The next step is to box up all of those evil tools and send them to me and I will exorcise the evil spirits out and in a year or two send them back….maybe!

I have the same problem and no there is no cure. Good luck with the hunt!

Welcome to my world!! :)) 3 years ago I had NO hand planes (or any other woodworking hand tools). I now have a couple hundred planes, 25-30 braces, 20-30 eggbeaters, 1/2 dozen breast drills, 75-100 chisels and more saws than I can count. its like Christmas whenever I clean up the shop because I always find tools I’d forgotten I have. There is no cure. I ran out of space in the garage and now I’m sneaking them into the basement.
