Topic tags/keywords: question bandsaw reliant riser block

I have tried to review the older LJ forums for “Riser Kits” so that I could find a riser block kit for my 14” Reliant Model DD90 bandsaw and really didn’t get the answer to the question, Will a Grizzly H3051 Riser Block Kit work on a Reliant model DD90? Grizzly has the kit on the internet for $79.95
I am wanting just a little bit more resaw height, taking in the fact that I still have only the 1 hp motor on the saw. But I would like to add a resawing jig and other items that would add to the height of the table. Anyway I’m trying to economize and use what I have rather than see about getting another bandsaw.
Any help, suggestion and experience is appreciated.

The block might fit but besides the block, the bar for the guides and guards need to fit as well. Also add in a new spring which you will probably need. It will be a crap shoot. You might get lucky and everything fit just fine. You might end up with an unusable kit.

I put a riser block on my HF saw and am lukewarm about it. I just don’t use the extra height that much. If I were to do it over again, I wouldn’t have put it on. If you are putting big wood through it, there are stability issues and frankly, I would also prefer a larger table that comes with the big saws.

Hard to say if will or will not. Grizzly has two riser kits. Without knowing measurements who can tell?

Fine Woodworking did a review back in 2002 on your bandsaw, “One of the lowest-priced saws and a near twin to the Central Machinery, the Reliant is the only saw in the test with four speeds.” Did not say anything about a riser kit, other than saying motor bogged down while resawing if stock pushed too fast.”
Save your money for new used bandsaw.
