Because the velcro sandpaper pads are much more expensive than regular expensive sandpaper I cut out a pad sizes peace of regular expensive sandpaper and glued it to and old and very well used expensive velcro sandpaper pad with a razor knife.

...and as your cutting through the sandpaper the sand sharpens the blade on the razor knife at the same time! THAT’S A BONUS!

And I thought I was the only LJ cheap enough to do this! Thanks. I feel better. I have also glued sheepskin to old ROS discs to use as buff pads for wax.

I’m guessing that the sheep’s kin aren’t too fond of that!

I might have been kidding someone but it wasn’t you.

tips. You can buy a double sided velcro pad, works as a shim between sand paper and machine thus adding/extending the pads life on the machine as this is what becomes expensive to replace.

Buying the velcro paper from the mfg of the tool is always the most expensive way to go, there are gemneric knocks offs at half the price but

Sandpaper, no matter what type, sticky velcro, or plain, are not created equally, the grit, the adhesive, the engineering that go into them,……..sometimes I buy a piece for my sander (velcro) that 35 cents a slice (OUCH) but it lasts 10x as long as the 10 cent slice
