Topic tags/keywords: tablesaw question jig

I got my first table saw, a Ryobi RTS21, for my birthday last week. So far it’s pretty okay, but I want to create a mitre extension to it. The trouble I am having is how to attach it. Most other table saws I have seen make it pretty easy to run a couple of screws through a piece of wood, but the Ryobi makes it pretty tough to access the ends of the screws that would be through the existing mitre gauge. Anybody else with this (or the RTS20, which I think is the same) have any ideas?

Sorry for what is, I’m sure, a pretty basic question—I’m a complete newbie.

Congrats on the present. I don’t have experience with the miter gauge though. I have a wood extension on my Ridigd but have recently made a very simple sled that I prefer for crosscuts.
