Hello Lumberjocks in the NW suburbs of Chicago.

I am moving in the next couple of weeks to San Diego. And unfortunately will have to hibernate my workshop for a while.

I have several cutoffs of walnut and maple that would be great for turning. I also have a large slab of walnut 51”X12”X 3” and a large slab of Cherry 34”X 13.5”X3”

Not sure what to do with them. Would like to sell them but no clue where to list them so someone who could use them could actually find them.

Any advice?

Have you tried the obvious places like Craigslist? I am sure that in a big place like Chicago someone who could use them would find the ad. Good luck.

I would list it on in your area. You may also be able to list it at the high schools or trade schools in your area that has a woodworking program. Good luck with the sale and your move.

Some LJs might even buy them, ship through USPS, and pay the freight to you.

Post some pictures on this forum. See if there are any LJ’s close to you that want them. I don’t know what the shipping cost are but if the price and shipping is favorable there are people who visit this web site that have used a few pieces of wood before, and they might want yours.

And the Fish tank in the photo link is for Sale, but I will warn you. It won’t be as cheap as the wood.

It is really difficult to refrain from making a wood joke here.
