I know a lot of you want a nice looking and functional web site to sale your products and have no clue as what to do other than try to use a pre made template or theme. I discussed this with my wife tonight and we’ve come up with a solution for you if enough interest is generated.

We’ll start a blog on one of our test sites and teach you how to build a web site in a professional program called Sharepoint Designer 2007 that you can download for free. We’ll set up a web site on our computers and using screenshots we’ll teach you how to build the same web site. We would much prefer you use Microsoft’s Professional Web Editor Expression Web 4. If you have access to a student or teacher then you can buy the Academic Version for about $24.00 and we’ll show you where.

We’ll also teach you everything about publishing your site to your hosting company and how to use some of the most popular functions in Cpanel on your hosting company. We’ll teach you how to point your domain name to the Nameservers at your hosting company so your site will show up in the net.

We’ll teach you from a blank page in Sharepoint Designer or Expression Web 4 to a completed web site and then you should be able to build your own site and maintain it without any problems.

We’ll teach you how to do all your images including optimizing them, exploding them to a larger size, how to set up PayPal on your site, building a navigation menu bar and making links to all the other pages on your site.
To be able to do this you will need a version of Photoshop, we would prefer you purchase you a copy of Photoshop and Image Read 7.0 from Ebay or anywhere you can find it. It’s usually cheap, around 50 bucks and not difficult to learn the way we’ll teach you. If you have an image program and know how to use it then that would be just fine.

This will not be a quick fix, It will take us some time to build the site along with you. We’ll also try to answer any questions you may have.

You can have a very pretty and functional site for your products without all the yee haw stuffs that all the code heads think you have to know to build a site.
