Well fellow LJs, in eight hours I will be on a plane with my family for a two week stint in the Cayman Islands, where sadly I will not be woodworking but rather loafing on the beach with a cold cocktail in hand while I ponder weighty matters, such as “My ice seems to be melting—am I drinking too slowly?” or “Should we have steak or lobster for dinner tonight?”. You know, really important stuff like that. :) Anybody else enjoyed / enjoying / planning to enjoy a vacation recently or soon? If so, where to? Share a picture or a story if you care to! Lest we forget, there is more to life than woodworking! -- John, BC, Canada |

Unfortunately due to my project allocation this year, I won’t be able to take any time of. This is the second year in a row I wasn’t able to use any vacation time. I have 16 weeks (about 4 months!) of time off banked at this point. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some time off for the kids winter break in Feb so I can enjoy some cold drinks on a hot beach while it is freezing cold in the north east :) |

My wife and I went to San Antonio in mid June. Damn hot down there. We were the only fools playing mini golf in 105 degree temperature. Peace to all. -- Joe from Western Ma.... Peace to all |

Hey DKV, using my iPad to connect. I didn’t bring a laptop this time, wanting to travel a bit lighter and not bringing the laptop makes getting through airport security easier. -- John, BC, Canada |

So, where are the pictures? Don’t forget you can get some huge, fantastic lobsters to eat, if that’s your thing. Sure wish the ipad had smell-o-rama. I know my Samsung Tab does. -- I would drink a river of the kool aid before I took the smallest sip of the tea... |

Throw the electronics away and enjoy your well earned vacation. |

Waho6o9, how can one possibly have fun without integrating electronics? I see the day when we will evolve to the point where cell phones will be integrated into our brains and our tablets will be part of our sunglasses. Boy, I wish I was there when that happens. -- I would drink a river of the kool aid before I took the smallest sip of the tea... |
