I don’t know if this is the right place to post this. I just have a question & I hope I don’t sound stupid. What is the “watch/ unwatch ” button for. What does it do ?

It adds that forum topic or other post to your “Watchlist” that shows up when you view the Pulse. That makes it easier to follow replies to topics you find of interest. I’m not sure it does anything anywhere except in the pulse.

It might also trigger an email being sent to you when a reply is made, but since I have email notifications turned off I can’t say for sure.

Watch adds the project to your watch list, and when you go to the menu under your options and select My Watchlist, only items on your Watchlist that have updates will appear. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Both explanations are correct …. I think of it more like a bookmark. There’s so many threads being started its hard to keep up with them, so you can watch a thread and you have an index right to it. When the thread gets boring … unwatch it.

“My Watchlist” under the My Lumberjocks drop down menu is actually a shortcut to the Pulse page with the Watchlist option selected. It is the same as clicking on the Pulse button then clicking My Watchlist at the top. Just different routes to the same destination.

I don’t use the pulse, but I’m fairly sure the replies above concerning that are correct.
I have email notifications turned on (from “Edit email notifications” on the home page), and I get an email whenever someone posts something new to any thread that I’m watching…
The subject of the email is the thread name…

and the content of the email is the newly posted comment…

You also get an email anytime a new post is made.
