Topic tags/keywords: question sander

I picked up this vintage 3” belt sander a while back and I can’t seem to find any info on it what so ever. It is a JCPenney Model # 2115, 5.5amp, 120volt, with dust collection. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I was going to strip it down to use the motor on another project, but I don’t want to destroy a possible rare find. Thank you!

Well I will say that a functional heavy old belt sander with
a dust bag that works (gets the dust) is a tool I would
be far more reluctant to scrap for parts than one without
a bag. Those heavy old sanders are useful for certain
sorts of work due to the mass.
