(closed) Obama campaign sues to restrict military voting in Ohio?

More misinformation. The lawsuit attempts to enjoin Republican backed legislation that restricts early voting in Ohio. It doesn’t do anything to change the period of military voting.

”These laws allows voters using the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voter Act (“UOCAVA”) to vote early in-person at a board of elections office up through the Monday before Election Day, while non-UOCAVA voters can vote early in-person at a board of elections office (or designated alternate site) only up until 6 p.m. on the Friday before Election Day. Basically, the Ohio Legislature recognized the undue hardship imposed on those military men and women serving and provided an additional three days for them to vote.The lawsuit by the Obama campaign would eliminate the extra three days allowed the military.”

Looks like Obama wants to cutout the long weekend that the military currently has to vote… Why?

Being in the Military could very easily result in possible Other Duties to which they are committed, to go beyond the Friday where having until Monday to Vote would enable the busy military to vote where they might not be able to after Friday.

It was NOT broken… The provision was made for a reason… It does NOT have to be fixed…

IMHO, the Military need those three days to vote…

Joe, I’m learning to NEVER believe anything the news media throws out as a breaking news story. Invaribly if you wait 24 hours you get a ” so and so” MISSPOKE” or so and so” BACKSPOKE” . The news media sucks and is getting worse everyday. I interpret these words as:

Misspoke-lets alligator mouth overload humingbird ass
Backspoke- ran mouth about something didn’t know anything about and got caught(lied)

The truth is Since 2005, Ohio has had in person early-voting in the three days prior to the election. This year, however, the Republican legislature in Ohio eliminated early voting during this period, except for members of the military. The Obama lawsuit is attempting to restore voting rights for all Ohioans, not restrict them for the military or any other group.

But that doesn’t stop Willard Romney from stating the opposite on his face book account. Get this….even Fox News told the truth on this one, even Fox said Romney was full of BS.
