I bought a used wooden playset for the lumber, thinking it was redwood. Woops. When I cut into it, it became clear that it’s not. The seller swears that it’s a Rainbow playset, and their website says they use redwood, cedar, douglas fir, and something from China called cunninghamia. It’s quite aromatic, but smells sweeter and more pungent than the cedar I’m used to from closets and chests. A lot of it is pretty white, but there is some color: see picture below. Any help identifying? If it is cunninghamia, anyone care to comment on experience building stuff from it?

I think that it is cedar. Not the aromatic red kind. It is rather soft and has open grain.

Does it smell like a pencil ?
It looks like Cedar from here..Certainly not Aromatic Cedar though.
Here’s a link to the Chinese Fir being called Chinese Cedar when imported to USA.
