Topic tags/keywords: question

Here is a suggestion for Martin that I’d like comments from my fellow LJs as to whether or not they’d be interested in it.

How about the Forums button have a selection feature (perhaps a “Favorites Forums” orsomething along those lines) with which I could pick the Forum Topics that I want to look at?

Right now, my choices are to look at ALL Forum Topics or click through the list of Forum Topics and toggle back and forth. I would rather be able to customize – and simplify – my favorite Forum Topics and just look at those.

A “Favorite Forums” selection feature would also help those who are not happy with all the Off Topic Forum posts. They would merely “de-select” that Forum Topic!

What say you? Cheers!

Sounds good to me…that way the people who hate off topic forums but can’t keep themselves from clicking on them and making a huge fuss and making comments like “what does this have to do with woodworking?” can finally shut up.

I speak of no one in particular.

Good idea Firehouse. I wouldnt use the option, because I like seeing all the forums…however some people would probably like it.

No amount of technology will keep those folks that do not want to see the nonshop topics from going to and reading the nonshop topics. If their god cannot help them with their discipline then I pray that Allah will help them. Someone needs to help them.

WHEn I show up here, it is through the hand tool forum, that is bookmarked for me to use to get on here. IF I wish to go elsewhere in the forums, i will just cruise by. IF anything intrigues me, catches my fancy, I MIGHT stop by. As for the Off Topic section? Almost like reading the sunday Funny Papers in the Newspaper. Trying to decide which is which….. is Chipmonk related to Dagwood? Is Dan-o the “Secret Squirrel” of TV fame? Which of these Of topic topics are close to watching the Loonie Tunes? I rarely take ANYTHING said on there as serious, worthwhile reading. I look at the off-topic section the same way that a just elected poli-jive worker looks at voters, AFTER the election is over. Sometimes referred to as “Slumming” while going down to the “Low Class Neighborhoods” of forums. YMMV
