Topic tags/keywords: plane stanley bailey no 4 no 6 no 8 saw diston

Picked these up at a yard sale this morning for $45. A No 8, a No 6C, two No 4C, & a small Diston hand saw. I’m hoping to clean them up & use them if possible. All look to be in okay shape (except for the saw). I’ll probably have to make some new handles, etc. but…. Let me know what you think. How did I do?

If I am seeing what you have there correctly, those items in that condition would be priced for a total of close to $200 in the flea markets / antique stores in my area, so I would say you got a bargain.

I’d say you did pretty damn good! Especially since the planes aren’t all covered in rust.

Thanks guys. I’m still a little new at this so I appreciate the help. I’ll try to keep you posted as I get them cleaned up. Thanks again.

You definitely rocked it! Yard sales and the back-end of swap meets are the bomb!

If it wasn’t for having to leave Texas, I’d just about pack up and move up to Yankeeland just to be able to SEE something like this, let alone get a chance to buy it. All we have in yard sales and flea markets down here are used (unwashed) baby clothes and busted TV’s.
If I knew you could take a joke I, too, would say ”YOU SUCK”
But I won’t

How come I never find yard sales with that kind of booty? You sir, most definitely SUCK!

That saw looks all used up. You should send it to me for disposal.

Nice haul, excellent price!

The No. 8 by itself is probably worth about $45-55. I’d say you scored a gloat.

Either one of the 4C’s is worth the $45, so its like you got everything else for free. YOU SUCK!!

Well done and yup..YOU SUCK !
(I’ve never seen a free range, in the wild #8 around here, closest was a rusty Record of the same size, passed on $125..)
