Good turning project and Show & Tell. In woodturning, we call it traped rings.

How many people here actually remember the Hula Hoop?

How many of you, that remember it, could actually use it and KEEP it going?!

I remember it… I could NOT keep it going… but, my little sister could! LOL

YEP! Good Stuff Joe. Hula Hoop? Drove me nuts! Bongo Board was FUN!

ANyone remember the “Alley Machines” I use to Make? A board at about a 50/60 Degree Angle. Bunch of Finishing Nails Driven In, Guys Drop there Marble at the top. it made it’s way down and they won whatever “Slot” it ended up in?

Or the straight up and down ones with a series of Holes along the bottom. Guys tried to roll their alleys into the holes that paid so many alleys for each slot?

Doney Whackers? Chestnut on the end of, usually a Shoelace, Everbody “Whacked” everybody elses Doney Whacker to see who could get the Most “Kills”. Sometimes they missed the Chestnut.. OUCH!!!

Model Airplanes that you MADE yourself. All the kit had in it was a set of Plans and a bunch of different size sheets of Balsa Wood. You cut everthing out with a Razor Knife, including every Wing Rib then covered it all with “Silkspan” then Painted it all? Took it out “Crashed It” brought it back home and “Fixed it” again!

The GOOD Old Days!!
